"It’s not just our home, it’s yours."
Mizzou’s living room on campus was built in 1963 to give students a place on campus to call their own. Today, Brady Student Commons is one of the most frequently used buildings on campus. However, in spite of past work and renovation, Brady lacks the space and professionalism students need to truly call it home.
Because of this, students voted to pass a referendum for a new student center. The new building will be divided into two projects, One, and Two, the first of which opened January 5, 2009.
The new Student Center will give students increased lounge space, double the student activity space, better student media locations for "The Maneater," KCOU, and MUTV. Students can also look forward to added space for dining locations and eating space.
Mizzou lovers will be happy to know that the new Student Center will be a classic white campus building with a traditional interior. Filled with large windows to provide natural light, convenient and refined student offices, and a sense of Mizzou spirit, the new Student Center will finally offer Mizzou students a place on campus to call home.
